A few weekends ago, I went hiking up Sioux Charlie trail in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, and frankly, you’re lucky that I decided to come back to work. You’re also lucky that I only posted 11 pictures, because I took exactly ten times that many.
This is the Stillwater River. Presumably whoever named wasn’t this far in the mountains, or they would have named it Roaring Whitewater of Sudden Death River. Or something. We were hiking with a chocolate lab, and we had to keep her on a leash because she really, really, really wanted to play in the water.

Consensus of our Facebook community is that this is a Little Larkspur (Delphinium bicolor) it is toxic to cattle, but eaten by deer and elk.

Again, we had to forcibly restrain the lab. She thought this fisherman was throwing things in the water for her to fetch.

Look at these flowers! They are pretty, and choose to remain anonymous.
